The Science Behind of ALPHARIP:
Ursolic Acid PhytoFUSE™: A pentacyclic triterpenoid that contributes to the waxy coats on apples, other fruits, and herbs. It has been subject to substantial clinical research, which has consistently shown extremely potent, multifaceted effects. However, while it has been used in the supplement industry since the beginning, it has consistently failed to impress.
Its major limitation is its chemical structure, which is exceptionally hydrophobic and highly lipophilic, leading to very low permeability. This results in poor absorption, rapid elimination, and low bioavailability after administration. The first study of RipFACTOR® was designed to support messaging to the sports nutrition consumer1. This 8-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study featured young adult males familiar with weight training and at least six months of experience with resistance exercise. Strength, endurance, and muscle size were improved throughout the study period. A statistically significant increase in upper and lower body muscle strength was seen as early as 14 days compared to placebo.
A second study was conducted in 2019. This study focused on resistance training of 'naive' subjects and examined two different dose levels, a 'performance' and an 'ultra-performance' dose. An innovative 'efficiency model' design included a second placebo group that followed a double exercise regimen.
The results of this study confirmed and expanded on the first. Impressively, subjects taking RipFACTOR demonstrated gains exceeding the placebo group doing twice the exercise. Subjects taking the 'performance' dose also showed similar strength and endurance benefits to subjects doing twice the amount of exercise. At the 'ultra-performance' dose, the strength and endurance gains were statistically significantly better than subjects completing twice the exercise volume. Improvements in testosterone and cortisol levels for the RipFACTOR group compared to the placebo groups provided a testosterone to cortisol (T:C) ratio favouring anabolism and could be partially responsible for muscle growth and strength benefits.
A more recent double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 2023 involving young male participants showed that the RipFACTOR® group showed significantly increased mid-upper arm circumference and improved body composition and serum hormone levels post-trial. The participants’ hematology, clinical chemistry, and vital signs were within the normal range. No adverse events were observed.

α-Cedrene: A member of the class of organic compounds known as cedrane and isocedrane sesquiterpenoids. These are sesquiterpenoids with a structure based on the cedrane or the isocedrane skeleton. It is a prevalent ingredient in cosmetics, and its mildly sweet taste has turned α-Cedrene into a recurring dessert and beverage ingredient. As detailed below, AlphaRIP utilises a high dose of highly purified, isolated α-cedrene, which exerts unique effects.
It has recently been identified as a potent agonist of the OR subtype OR10J5, which, as previously discussed, leads to concentrated increases in cAMP in target tissues such as skeletal muscle and fat cells. Recent research has shown that α-Cedrene is a promising agent that may be applied to enhance the mass and strength of skeletal muscle through its ability to be a potent stimulator of myogenesis and skeletal muscle anti-atrophic agent. These are vital pathways to stimulate the building of new muscle tissue while simultaneously reducing the rate of muscle breakdown.
α-Cedrene is highly orally bioavailable (unlike other common purported cAMP boosting ingredients such as Forskolin) and builds up in various bodily tissues such as skeletal muscle, adipocytes, and the liver, where they can exert its effects where it matters most. They have been shown to affect downstream key anabolic signalling molecules such as PKA Cα, p-CREB, p-FoxO3 and (PGC)-1α1 whilst simultaneously decreasing expression of catabolic signalling molecules such as RING finger 1 (MuRF1) and muscle atrophy F-box (MAFbx), which regulate ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent proteolysis. The amount of p-SMAD2/3 (a downstream molecule of myostatin signalling) significantly diminished. In contrast, the amounts of IGF-1 signalling molecules, including p-AKT, p-mTORC, p-S6K1, and p-4E-BP1, increased dramatically in the skeletal muscle of α-ionone-treated subjects. In layperson’s terms, critical anabolic processes are greatly enhanced while key catabolic processes are simultaneously suppressed, leading to a potent net benefit in promoting anabolism.
Activation of the relevant OR subtype also exerts positive effects concerning enhancing glucose uptake and increasing insulin sensitivity. Research has shown that they lead to the reprogramming of metabolic signatures, boosting levels of Adcy3 and genes involved in fatty acid oxidation, with concomitant downregulation of the ability of fat cells to increase levels of fatty acids! Furthermore, cAMP is a vital signalling messenger for the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis and production of essential anabolic hormones such as testosterone; enhanced levels of cAMP directly correlate with enhanced hormone output!
